Since moving into my own home after college, I have loved decorating. It honestly gives me so much joy and is something that I never knew about myself until my early 20’s. Around this time is when I started Instagram stalking all of my favorite home decor bloggers like Liz Marie Blog (have you seen her new farmhouse? SWOON!) and Jenna Sue Blog. I remember when I noticed an old church pew decorated on Liz’s porch. I thought it was such a cool way to repurpose such a unique and special item! I have been on the lookout for one since. I would occasionally search craigslist, antique stores, even Facebook buy sell groups. I didn’t have much luck and when I did – they were upwards of 400-500 dollars. Definitely not in my budget for what is essentially a bench.
The first time my husband and I walked through this home, I knew it would be ours. It was way out of our planned price range and we had only been in our current home for 2 years. In our eyes, it was way too soon to move…yet we felt as though we would regret passing up this home – even my practical hubby. It was everything we had ever dreamed of AND it was on 3 acres. 4 months later and we are as happy as can be. Another plus was that the previous owners had amazing taste and had did most of the remodeling for us! Besides my dreams of white shiplap and an eventual kitchen makeover, our home fits our current style perfectly.. I mean who can really say that? Is it weird that I am kind of sad we don’t have more projects?
Fortunately, we have many outdoor projects to keep up with! We have an awesome sunroom attached to the back of our home
